Bill Gates: My kids get cell phone at age 13
Wed Jan 30, 2013
Speaking on this topic of when do kids get cell phones, I can comment that I have kids, especially a daughter, that wants a cell phone. We have made it very clear, that until they can at least pay for the service, they have no need to have it.
Forget buying software: You can now rent Microsoft Office (cheap!)
Tue Jan 29, 2013
Remember that you never 'own' software. You are only given a license to use it. I as well prefer lifetime subscriptions rather than yearly subscriptions. However, if this guarantees you will always have the latest version with full support, it could be a win-win for the corporate world.
American Story: Family with 12 kids roams US full-time in RV
Mon Jan 28, 2013
As far as a mailing address, there is a service to full-time RVers that allows this to work. You have a permanent mailing address, but your mail is forwarded to the closest destination that you choose.

How computer hacking laws make you a criminal

My two cents - in the 80s, especially the later part, us geeks had modems and a very available lists of numbers to dial into. None of this was secret or hidden. Telephone companies had special numbers that allowed you to call anywhere in the world for free. Again, this was not a secret.
Chrysler, inventor of minivans, to get rid of oneĀ
Thu Jan 17, 2013
I am now on my third Caravan. The other two were 98 and 99 models and eventually had issues beyond where I could repair them. Frankly the 99 Grand Caravan had over $140K miles. We bought a new 2010 Stow and Go and we love it. I installed a towing package and we tow a 19 foot ultralight trailer.
More Americans raiding 401(k)s to pay the bills
Tue Jan 15, 2013
If the middle-class did not have to pay luxury prices just to exist, then this would not be an issue. The cost of living is out of sight. When my parents try to compare their life to ours, it is like Apples and Oranges. My 5 year plan to be out of debt is not happening as quick as expected.
Who gave you the flu? New app, docs help place the blame
Wed Jan 9, 2013
Oddly enough, my wife and I both have been to the clinic because we thought we had the flu. After tests, it was all respiratory due to a cold that just went bad. My wife went through hers last week, and I am doing it this week.
$1 million lottery winner fatally poisoned by cyanide
Tue Jan 8, 2013
Random thought: Apple seeds contain cyanide. However, it is very small and it would take a lot to kill you. However, there was a rumor years ago that a lady eventually died from ingesting apple seeds. She loved them, but the accumulation of the salt eventually became toxic.
Early flu season accelerates; no peak yet, CDC says
Fri Jan 4, 2013
My entire family spent almost an entire week at home right after Christmas. My wife and I still have it, and my wife has it worst. And guess what, she got the flu shot. It does not work because it is hit and miss.
